Section overview:
Dashboards help organize, present, and visualize your reports in various ways, allowing you to tailor the Ashby experience to specific audiences and purposes. Dashboards allow you to use the same report across multiple dashboards to save you time. They ensure metrics are calculated the same and that team members speak the same recruiting data language.
Build your first dashboard in ~5 minutes
The process of building a dashboard from scratch is covered in the short video below. The video touches on the key points of this article, with the sections below available for quick reference.

Before creating new reports or finding reports to add to a dashboard, you need to create a dashboard. On the top menu bar, click “Dashboard” and then select “Create Dashboard.”
You can now name the dashboard and save it. Make sure the name clearly identifies what or who the dashboard is for.
When saving the dashboard, you will have the option to enable Access Control. By default, dashboards are viewable by anyone in your organization. A private dashboard is only viewable by you, organization admins, and anyone who you specifically grant access to.
Now you can build your first report for your dashboard. You can build a report using a template as a base or create one from scratch in Build. For some report ideas, take a look at our Report Catalog!
Create a report from the template library
The Template Library is a repository of pre-built reports that you can apply filters and groupings to. Before you can add a template report to your dashboard, you need to create one. Navigate to the template library by clicking “Reports” on the top menu bar and then “Templates.”
Select the template report you would like to build. You can then update the filters and groupings to your liking, name, and save your report.
