<aside> đź’ˇ This document reviews how to enable and utilize Advanced filtering options in Ashby's report building interface.

The Advanced filter interface allows you to select individual and multiple fields while applying logical And, Or, and Not operations. For fields that contain string values, you can apply string matching conditions such as "contains,” "starts with," or "equals". Visit our Report Catalog - Essentials to see many examples of how Advanced filters can be used.
You can see the “Advanced” filter option on the right-hand side of the Filters section in any Ashby report. By default, the “Advanced” filter option is checked, and clicking “Add Field to Match” allows you to add filters.
When the “Advanced” filter option is not turned on, the report’s filter options are determined by the report Subject.
With “Job Considerations” set as the report Subject, Job, Source, Team, and Location are the available filters. However, when the Subject is changed to “Job”, Team and Location are the only available filters.
When adding fields in Advanced Filters (and Group By), the field selector modal will present all available options. The field selector permits type ahead functionality to quickly find the field you need. Typing "recr" will present all the matching "Recruiter" fields.
If you see multiple options, the path above the field name shows where the field comes from. In the below example, the "Recruiter" field is available as the Recruiter on the Application, the Recruiter on the Job, or the Recruiter on the Job associated with the Opening.
