<aside> 🔍 Lever does not allow opportunities to be transferred from one posting to another. In order to consider an opportunity for another job posting, a new opportunity must be created and added to the new posting. We will refer to this as “transferring” throughout this article.

To counteract the impact this will have on reporting, we would recommend:

Be aware that the following data points will be lost in the “transfer”:

Impacted Commonly Used Reports

Passthrough Rate Reports

Passthrough rate tables report on a group of opportunities’ journeys through the stages/ stage groups. Since it is tracking each opportunity, a candidate that is “transferred” to a new job will be counted for both the old req and the new req, and will be considered not passing the stage in which they were transferred from. For this reason, we recommend filtering out by archive reason.

Time to Hire or Time to Offer

These might be inaccurate since the opportunity start date will be the “transfer” occurred, which usually doesn’t line up with the application date. When a “transfer” occurs, users are given the option to set a different application date (Lever Documentation). Users can also edit the application date after the fact as well. Our recommendation is to update the application date on the new opportunity.

Time in Process

In order to keep these reports as accurate as possible, users must ensure opportunities are being added to the proper stage in the new requisition. Since the duration of each opportunity is accurate, you do not need to filter any data out. No change is recommended here.
