Permissions we request from Slack

The Ashby integration accesses the following scopes:

channels:read: View basic information about public channels in a workspace chat:write: Post messages in approved channels & conversations chat:write.public: Send messages to channels Ashby Bot isn't a member of files:write: Upload attachments (used by scheduled dashboards) groups:read: View basic information about private channels that Ashby Bot has been added to groups:write: Manage private channels that Ashby Bot has been added to and create new ones im:read: View basic information about direct messages Ashby Bot has been added to im:write: Start direct messages with people mpim:read: View basic information about group direct messages that Ashby Bot has been added to mpim:write: Start group direct messages with people users:read: View people in a workspace users:read.email: View email addresses of people in a workspace

How our integration works with Slack

The integration for Slack allows your team to receive Ashby notifications via DMs or channel messages. Once enabled the Ashby bot will notify you in Slack as seen here.

Enabling the integration

You can enable this integration from Ashby’s Integrations marketplace. Please note, you must be an Admin in your team's Slack workspace to enable this. This is a global integration, so everyone on your team will be able to get notifications without additional setup.

Configuring Notifications

Once our integration is enabled, your team will be able to add Slack as a notification channel from their personal settings page.

Our integration defaults to not having notifications sent to Slack, so you should prompt your team to activate them after enabling our integration.

After you set up the integration for Slack, you'll start receiving messages from the Ashby bot.
