When should I close out a job?

We recommend closing out a job:

<aside> 💡 If you have any evergreen roles that you are always hiring for, we recommend using Openings to track positions accordingly. You can read more about these in our Openings Management guide.

How to mark a job as closed

To close out a job, head into the role in *Jobs>Admin,* then click on the Open tag under the job title. From the dropdown, select Mark as Closed.

You’ll then be asked to select a reason from the Reason for closing drop-down. Select your reasoning, then hit Close.

<aside> 💡 If you need to set up more job closing reasons, you can do this in Admin>Organization Setup>Close Job Reasons.

Once confirmed, the job will be marked as closed. All job postings will be removed from your Ashby job board.

You’ll then see the option to Archive Job Consideration/s. Click this to archive any existing candidates in the pipeline.

You’ll be asked to select an archive reason for the candidates and can opt to notify candidates of the rejection and cancel any feedback notifications for interviewers.
