How the Integration Works

Customizing your Searchlight Assessment

<aside> 💡 In Searchlight, Assessments are the requirements a candidate must fulfill to complete their reference process, such as:

• Inviting a certain number of references
• Inviting specific references of a certain type (e.g manager, supervisor)
• Which survey to use

1. Head to your Company Settings in Searchlight

   

2. Navigate to the ATS Settings tab, and at the bottom of the page you will see a table of your Assessments

1. Click 'Add Assessment' to create your new Assessment

   

   1. Give your Assessment a name. This will correspond to the Assessment Type you select in Ashby

   2. Choose the total number of days that a candidate and their references will have to provide feedback.

   3. Select the survey the references will receive for this Assessment.

      1. You can select the Searchlight Gold Standard or a survey that we’ve customized for you. Searchlight’s survey questions are completely customizable.

   4. (If you’ve enabled candidate self-assessments in Searchlight) Select the survey the candidate will be asked to complete for this Assessment.

   5. Select the type and number of references you want for this Assessment.

      

   6. Click OK to save your Assessment!

2. Repeat the previous steps for any number of Assessments. At a minimum, create one Assessment that works across all job types and functions

<aside> 💡 Pro tip: Most partners have 1 default Assessment. Some create custom Assessments per function and distinguish between Individual Contributor and Management roles.

Enabling the Ashby Integration on Searchlight

1. First, get your Ashby API Key

   1. In Ashby, navigate to Admin > Ashby API (left hand menu) > API Keys and click 'Create One'

   2. Name it something recognizable that makes it clear it is used with Searchlight, like "API Key for Searchlight"

   3. Select "Searchlight" as an Integration Partner

   4. Click 'Create API Key'

   <aside> 💡 Copy the API Key, and be sure to keep the key somewhere safe! You will need it for the next step
