When a candidate’s application moves from stage to stage, we record the transition record: which stage are they leaving, which stage are they entering, at what time did they enter the stage and what time did they leave the stage. You can see the available fields for filtering and grouping below.

Examining interview stage transition details

When you open any candidate profile in Ashby, you will see the interview stage progress. This gives details around the stage, the timing of the stage, scheduled interviews, and feedback. The stage progress summarized in the profile view is one way to view the interview stage transition details you can report on.

If we wanted to build a custom list report for this candidate, we could pull up the records of individual stage transitions. Note in this report that each row and time stamp corresponds to the profile view transitions above; though in this case, we are looking at the stage groups the individual stages have been mapped into.

Example: stage outcomes over time

A common reporting need is to examine the outcome of activity from a specific stage group of interest. In this example, we report on the outcome of the recruiter screen stage group over time.

The pattern here is to use “Entered At” field with the “From Stage Group”, which results in examining the destination (the next stage, rejection, or being hired) at the time of the decision.
